JOANNA WAN

With more than 15 years teaching experience, Joanna has established herself as a professional piano teacher with students from beginner to advanced diploma levels. Her students have won prizes in various competitions including champions in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, Asia Pacific Outstanding Youth Piano Competition and Hong Kong Youth Piano Competition. Some of her students have successfully furthered their path in music in universities and conservatoires both local and overseas. 

 

One-to-one piano lessons are open to young beginners to adults. Every lesson is tailor made to meet the need and progress of individuals. Joanna’s lessons aim to provide a solid foundation in piano playing alongside with emphasis in musicianship and musicality, which are essential for becoming an all-rounded musician. Theory and aural training are inclusive in the lessons.

 

Joanna is also experienced in coaching the followings:

• Preparation for ABRSM and Trinity graded and diploma exams

• Guidance on programme notes writing and viva voce section

• Preparation for competitions and concerts

• Preparation and advice for university and conservatoire auditions

Apart from individual lessons students are also encouraged to participate in masterclasses in which they can benefit from the setting of group learning. Student concerts are also held regularly in order to provide opportunities for performing on stage and music sharing.

Lessons can be taught in Cantonese or English.
